A perspective on using LLMs in digital health

MultiMed Engineers explored how Large Language Models (LLMs) could be used to revisit and extend Digital Health functions investigated in the BD4QoL and other projects. A multi-agent proof of concept was developed to experiment with LLM-based behaviour interpretation, affective assessment, anamnesis extraction, health-promotion content selection, symptom support and risk assessment. The work also investigates how natural-language prompts can make system specifications more directly understandable and discussable with healthcare professionals.

Assessing the operational costs of the IDEA4RC data ecosystem

MultiMed Engineers developed an operational cost assessment of the IDEA4RC federated data ecosystem, analysing the main platform components and their contribution to onboarding and recurring maintenance costs. The resulting framework provides a reference basis for planning the economic sustainability of participating Centres of Excellence and for assessing how costs may evolve as the network expands.

HTA of the BD4QoL digital follow-up platform

MultiMed Engineers conducted the HTA study of the BD4QoL digital platform for Head and Neck Cancer survivors, using decision-analytic modelling. The analysis indicates that a five-year BD4QoL-supported follow-up can be cost-effective in preserving health-related quality of life Additional scenarios explored predictor-guided interventions and the potential societal value of supporting survivors’ return to work.
